You've captured their soulfulness. They are beautiful!
I've spent a lot of time shooting photos of the new cat this month. What a complex task: lighting, lots of movement and lots of waiting for the right moment. My hat's off to you, Beth.

wonderful images Beth! the top image is so striking. the eyes are wonderful and the focus on the eyes is splendid!

one thing i have done to combat the noise issue, esp since my dog has a lot of black and dark fur near his eyes, is use a flash and bounce it off the ceiling. I have a cheap flash I got off Amazon that is compatible for both Nikon, Cannon, and many more DSLRs (link below) and it's AMAZING how much I use it now! It really helps bring out the eyes and also adds some nice fill flash.

First one is so stately!!!

Second is two "very protective of our toys" dogs, giving the eye to photographer....do not mess,touch our toys!!!
