Looking rather addicted, I think.  Last one.

Here are a couple more of living greenery that I played around with for 'abstract.'

Threshhold

I changed the cement block to a circle and cropped edges off.  Then I used 'threshhold' and also used 'invert'.  I need to learn how to add colors.  Fun!

Pike Place Market - Playing with Lights

This was shot through the windshield (at a red light, I was the passenger), post processing - had to take out a LOT of red and yellow hues cast by the red stoplight and the yellow from street lights and other cars.

Time and Motion #1

Not very exciting, but an example of something to try.

Abstract take 3

Uncle Nickolas had returned from his long winter journey;
it was a cold winter night.

We snuggled under warm blankets,
sipping hot cocoa,
munching ginger snaps.

A fire blazed, the candles flickered, all was quiet.

Uncle Nickolas had often told us forest stories.
A silent tree falling;
robins snoring;
owls watching through the night.

As we peered through the windows,
we asked Uncle Nickolas,

who walks in the forest when we don’t?

Abstract?

abstracts 2

So far, I've defined abstract as removing the personal while still conveying emotion: focus on essential details and flatten the image. Still searching for more ideas.

Night lights

Caitlin, I just saw this - we are thinking along the same lines.  Pretty aren't they?

road trip abstract expansion

I liked how the artists used colors and shapes to evoke emotion and have used this a lot in the abstracts I have found/played with.

Occupy in the Abstract

Abstract take 2

It was a cold winter night;

we bundled up as we traveled to Uncle Nickolas cabin.

It was to be a special time helping Uncle Nickolas unpack

his many gaily wrapped boxes and bags.

We had hot cocoa and ginger snaps.

We quietly walked up the stairs searching for the last box to open and explore.

There, to our amazement, was a wonderful collect of negatives

showing Uncle Nickolas cabin.

They’re very old.

He said we could share our found treasure with you …

abstracts

abstract take 1

2010 I created a fanciful Santa workshop where

special dreams came true

for all boys and girls

of all ages.

Where colorful Christmas trees

lite the snow covered hillside

and sparkled on the hillsides beyond

Santa's special workshop.

2011 we shall again visit the

fanciful Santa workshop

as it turns and turns and turns

much like those wonderful snow globes!

May your dreams may come true!
