My take: as a single photo, I like the reflected color more than the B&W pond image. The color shot has more warmth and gives us more info about time-of-day.
As one of a B&W set of reflections, it makes sense to use the B&W image.
I focus more on the stepping stones in the B&W and on the reflected clouds in the color image.
