Here's 1 of the 2 photos that worked the best during the Painting with Light class at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix. It was actually pitch dark out (9:00pm), we shot for a long exposure and during the exposure the instructor moved the flashlight over the cactus plants. I was amazed that the stars showed up so well.

Wow! That's an interesting technique. I like that the light is soft and the stars are visible.
