Fruits of my Work on Vacation

I often post Landscape/Botanicals/Life in Nature stuff. I also work hard at portraiture. Below are my favorite images from my last three portraiture sessions (engagement, wedding, engagement). So much for Vacation????

"Work Vacation"

Between three photo sessions (engagement, rehearsal, and Wedding) and working on our cabin in the woods (took out log siding and replaced with new cedar siding), my uncle wanted to do some workshop type photography lessons with me. SO we woke up at 3am Seattle time and headed out for the sunrise. We missed a lot of color due to the heavy rains the day before; but the rolling fog in the valleys made for some really dynamic photos!

I haven't been able to touch many, but this was an instant favorite for me:

Made it to Washington.  Unfortunately it rained from Oregon to Redmond.  Big surprise for me.  I guess I have been totally taking the California weather for granted.  Here are some pix from my trip.

Another non-assignment...

Thomas, my friend Adam, and I were asked to photograph Relay for Life Redmond/Kirkland yesterday. We have nearly 5,000 images after 12hrs of shooting. So far, this one I took is my most favorite.




Now, admittedly, the sky was not that purple. In fact it was BLUE! How disappointing! It did have a good bunch of orange in the sky, but it didn't show up as much. It looked like this:




So in Photoshop, I added a warm filter, then boosted the vibrancy almost 100%. It gave me that beautiful purple and golden color in the sky. Perfect for a Mardi Gras themed Relay for Life!

And for those who have trouble reading the letters; it spells CURE :)

April 15 - Tax Day

Thank goodness small business owners can deduct their employee's salaries.
"Helper" is probably a bit of a stretch when it comes to these two employees.
